Monsanto is the Devil, So What Else is New?

Yes, I'm back to bitching again. This time, God love 'em, the organic growers and corps like Stonyfield are just getting on my nerves. Yes, I've heard that once again Monsanto is in the pocket of every important lawmaker and regulator, including the Secretary of Agriculture. Yes, I've heard that genetically modified alfalfa is going to hit our food chain.....
And?

Seriously. And? People that eat organic food make a conscious choice to do so. Do you think we aren't conscious enough to figure out a way around eating "possibly" contaminated food? I mean, really? We're not the type of people to throw our hands up in surrender. We won't run screaming from the room, thinking our world is ending. Seriously. I promise. If we have learned how to tweak our diets and palates a bit to consume mostly (or totally) organic foods, then we can figure out how to avoid eating GE alfalfa.
Trust me; we've got this.

What bugs the crap out of me is how "in your face" corporations like Stonyfield (products that I like by the way) are. I mean their packaging is made partly from corn and 70% of all corn in this country is genetically modified. They try to create a firestorm of controversy and what? feel they should be immune from scrutiny? Please.

Monsanto's a bully, and they always have been. The only way to deal with a bully and squash them is to be a bigger bully.... or hire a bigger bully. So maybe the organic growers and corporations just need to find a way to do that. Have at it.

Until then, we conscious consumers can increase the amount of raw veggies and fruits in our diet, cut down (or cut out altogether) dairy, since the cows might eat this GE alfalfa and grow some of our own food, like we're probably already doing. Container or regular garden anyone? There are ways around eating alfalfa. I'm certain we can find them. Until then get out of my face. We've bigger problems this week, like the weather and the civil unrest in the Middle East that, one is going to drive up the cost of fuel by compromising passage through the Suez Canal. Wanna pay $8.00 for a gallon of gas? Yeah, me neither. Hey, how about you find a way to put all that GMO alfalfa in the gas tank? That would show 'em.
